Now, if you are a frequent visitor to my blog then you are already probably familiar with the name Snow Tree Media. This is not the first time that I have mentioned them, but just like with my publisher, Newman Springs, my pleasure in working with them will compel me to mention them, their involvement in my ever-expanding experience, and my appreciation for what they have done for me whenever relevant.

I first came to know Brett and Snow Tree Media through my publisher. The exact nature of the partnership between Snow Tree Media and Newman Springs Publishing is still unknown to me but it is inconsequential to me. Regardless of the connection between these two entities, my publisher connected me with Snow Tree Media as part of a promotional exercise. The terms and condition of that promotion will remain private but understand that I did not seek out Snow Tree Media and they did not solicit me but rather we were put together via my publisher as part of their partnership with Snow Tree Media.

Many, many years ago when the self-publishing arena operated like the Wild West with hardly any standards I tried my hand at my first book. I won't disclose the name because looking back today, the book was trash. I have no regrets about the book but see more clearly through more experienced eyes the number of faults and issues it contained when printed. The concept of editing at any level of optional along with any requirements regarding the book's contents. I wrote everything in MS Word, used only the editor's default grammar and spell checkers, and submitted the work to the self-publisher to be printed along with my selected cover art.

What better way to learn about someone than to understand what they like to do in their spare time. Knowing someone's hobbies can often times explain that person's motivations and inspirations for a lot of things they do. I mean, think about it, do people do Halloween costumes for things they don't enjoy or the things that they have an interest in? Usually it is what there is an interest in. For instance, as a Star Wars fan, I'm more likely to choose a costume that fits that interest of mine before something say like Star Trek of Flash Gordon.

The narrator had a good, calm voice. Her voice gave a sense of life, emphasis, and passion when needed. It completely drew me in and I just let the book play. Before I knew it, I was at the end.

The author's words seemed heartfelt and each chapter was personal. I'm not a bit poetry person, I don't decipher or look for deeper meaning in the words. I listen to what is said, not what was not said. I'm a literal person like that but still found the literal words to be engaging and moving. To someone more inclined to this style, they may find even more to connect with.

At the end of the day, the narrator's voice caught my attention and made me listen. The words of the author though pulled me in fully and compelled me to keep listening. If this is what audiobooks are like, count me in!

I'm not sure yet if this author has any other works out there in the world or not but if they do, I'm gonna listen to them too! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys poetry and impassioned prose.
